Marcela Sepúlveda

• Archaeologist from Universidad de Chile (2002)
• Master and Doctor in Prehistory, Anthropology and Etnology from Universidad Paris 1 Panthéon- Sorbonne, Francia (2002-2006).
• Post-doctor Scholarship Hermés- Fondation Maison des Sciences de l’Homme Paris, Francia for 6 months (2010-2011).

Since 2000, Dr. Sepulveda assists in the implementation of various FONDECYT projects, starting from 2006 her own projects in Archaeology, assuming an interdisciplinary approach. In particular, her studies have focused on rock art, color and physicochemical archaeological material analysis in northern Chile and characterization of other regions. To this end, it has combined the use of different non-destructive techniques: SEM-EDX, XRD, X-ray fluorescence, Raman spectroscopy and infrared spectroscopy.

Since 2004 until today, she is also developing various projects of international collaboration with the C2RMF laboratories (Centre de Recherche et de Restauration des Musees de France); UMPC- LAMS (Laboratoire d ‘Archeologie et Structurale moléculaire). 2010, made a stay of improvement in the Laboratorio de Prospección del Instituto de Investigaciones Antropológicas and  Instituto de Físicas de la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México.

Currently, she serves as Full time Academic of the Department of Anthropology at the Universidad de Tarapacá.
